Twin2Go at UNECE Water Convention workshop

Twin2Go will hold a side event at the UNECE Water Convention’s "Second workshop on water and adaptation to climate change in transboundary basins: challenges, progress and lessons learnt", which will be held on 12-13 April 2011 in Geneva. The Twin2Go side event will form the first in a series of policy workshops that are aimed to share and discuss insights and policy lessons drawn from the Twin2Go project with decision makers and practitioners.

The first policy workshop in this series focuses on the Twin2Go target regions of Russia and New Independent States. In a panel discussion on adaptive water governance, policy and decision makers from those regions will be asked to present their perspectives and experiences with adaptive water resources management. Together with scientists, they will discuss under what circumstances adaptive approaches can be transferable across different basins, and how a transition towards adaptive water governance can be included into existing policy processes.

The UNECE Water Convention’s workshop will bring together a wide range of government representatives and other stakeholders engaged in activities on water and adaptation to climate change from the UNECE region. It constitutes a perfect audience for the Twin2Go policy dialogue series.
